Transactional ~ Parent, Child, Adult
  |
According to transactional analysis, we manifest our personalities through various behaviors and feelings. These may be divided into three ego-states— Parent (“exteropsyche”) in which we behave and think as if assuming a parental role; Child (“archaeopsyche”) in which the emotions rule; and Adult (“neopsyche”) in which we act more mature and objective.
Parent is here represented by the triangle, foundational and creative yet unbending. Child is shown by the circle, the simplest of shapes and arising out of and from the parent. Adult is indicated by the heart, the most complex yet mature of the three elements.
